The New Year
Happy New Year to the few that read this and the many who dont!
2006 was a good year, despite the fact that I lived in Toledo for the duration of it and didn't really get to go anywhere. But I did make significant progress on my thesis, doing all of the field work and data analysis. I also made it to two conferences in Windsor where Kristen and I had some good adventures. Hmm...I don't know. Looking back at it, it seems a little sad. I guess Steven and I did make it out to Ricket's Glen, although that wasn't exactly a great trip. We did a lot of little things, like go to the fairs and things like that. And I did have a lot of fun out in the field this summer. So, it really was a good year. Its just that there weren't any really big events, like vacations and what not. But, it was just one of those years. Its hard to do things when 1) you live 250 miles from your partner in crime, and 2) you're constantly busy all the time.
2007 is going to be a crazy year. Its going to be extremly busy, but hopefully, in a very good way. Here are some of the things to do/look forward to:
- IALE Conference in Tuson, AZ
- Graduate from Grad School with a Masters in Ecology
- 2 week trip to Costa Rica
- Get a Job
- Move out of Toledo, hopefully back to NW PA!
- Definate Adventures with Steven - Smokies? Mammoth Caves? Maybe Maine?
- Perhaps Canada again?
- Pirates III and Spiderman III (haha)
I'm very much looking forward to this new year. Its a big time of transition for me. Hopefully things will go smoothly, and the way I want. As far as resolutions go, I suppose to just continue my efforts to get back into shape. And also, now, to learn photography. I'd also like to get back into drawing and do more of that. But that probably won't happen till after graduation. Its going to be a crazy semester, taking 3 classes, writting a thesis and looking for a job. I'm going to be super busy, which is going to make it go super fast, which is exciting and scary all at the same time. I know one thing is for sure. I can't wait to get back NW Pennsylvania.
