Just a few notes to the idiots of the world....

1) Keep your dirty hands off my field experiment substrates. I put them there because thats where I want them. You know they're there for something, its obvious they're not litter, and they have no value to you. Leave them the hell alone.

2) Spoilers do not belong on pick up trucks. Thats just stupid. It puts you on the same level as Hummer owners. And that is a very very low level.

3) Your turn signal doesn't automatically clear the lane next to you.

4) If you started to merge when you saw the first "lane closed ahead" sign, bottlenecks would be greatly diminished and we would not have to stop. Speeding a few cars ahead isn't going to get you there any quicker.

5) Fish have feelings too. Not to mention rolls in the ecosystem. Just because they're of no interest to you doesn't give you the right to throw them on the ground, step on them, and/or throw them up on the bank to die. Thats just assinine.

6) You basically just suck.

Mid-summer update

Its been a long time, I know. Not that it really matters. I've been keeping busy with my field work, which all-in-all has been a pretty good time. Last week we woung up getting caught in a good storm. Well, we didn't EXACTLY get caught. It went more like this:

*storm cloud rumbles a little ways off*
Dave: Think we can beat it?
Me: Nope. But that doesn't mean we can't try. *grin*
Dave and Jenna: *grin*
All: *pile into canoe*

So, just went we get as far back into the swamp that we have to go, all hell broke loose -- sky to ground lightning all around, hard rain, and then the best of all -- the hail. As crazy as it was, we were having a great time. We hurried out of there a bit, but took the time to stop for some pictures. Field work is so great. *crazy grin*

I took a week off and went home for the holiday week. It was really good to get back to the country for a while. I get so restless in the city. And of course, it was great to spend some time with Steven and my family. Steven and I saw Superman and Pirates of the Caribbean. Both were quite enjoyable. I also met Milt (my advisore from Allegheny) for lunch, and then went up to see some people at Presque Isle. Of course, while in Erie on Wednesday, my car decided it didn't like break lights anymore, so my car was then in the shop until Friday. Becasue of that, I didn't get to go down to Pittsburgh and see Jamie, which really sucks and I feel quite bad about. I just got back to Toledo today. Its always so hard to come back, but it is nice being back in my apartment, in my own space. Toledo sucks, but my apartment kicks ass. :-P

Anyway, I have to get things ready to go out to the field tomorrow.
